Idris Elba is still yet to be named “James Bond” but he was just named People’s “Sexiest Man Alive” 2018. Elba is the thirty-third man to take on the title as he appeared on the cover of People magazine this week.
When he learned he had been selected for the title, Elba had this to say to the publication, “Come on, no way. Really?” The Thor star joked saying, “Looked in the mirror, I checked myself out. I was like, ‘Yeah, you are kind of sexy today. But to be honest, it was just a nice feeling. It was a nice surprise — an ego boost for sure.”

Elba became a big hit in the United States after he played the role of “Russel ‘Stringer’ Bell” in “The Wire”, an HBO series. Elba said he was far from sexy while growing up in London as a tall, skinny boy playing football, cricket, rugby, basketball and hockey.
Without doubt he is one of the biggest sex symbols in Hollywood though he believes his first days were quite awkward. He said, “And my name was Idrissa Akuna Elba, OK? I got picked on a little bit. But as soon as I could grow a mustache, I was the coolest kid on the block. Grew a mustache, had some muscles, bonkers.”
Idris Elba has starred in so many movies and is famous for playing “Mandela” in the adaptation, “A Long Walk to Freedom.”
